Ok product for the price. Could have better lens for this price. Easy to build does take a little longer than they say. Thank God for the extra packing material since during delivery the box had damage. For beginners it's ok price again is a little high. 8.5 out of 10.Ordered 3 months ago and used it 3 times so far. Very good beginner telescope, easy to assemble! Right off the bat, very easy to use for the moon! We've been using the app "Sky Map" to locate planets.I labeled the cardboard as I unpackaged it for the first time because I knew I would want to pack it up back into the box, not having a case. Grateful I did!A few things we've learned (as amateur astronomers) from trial and error and especially YouTube videos:-The moon and planets move surprisingly fast!-Smaller number on the lens means larger magnification.-The adjuster handle, which does the up-down alignment, tends to shift the telescope when you tighten it or let go of it. Takes some getting used to.-It's crucial to align the finder scope before looking for planets. YouTube astronomers recommend aligning the finder scope in the daytime with a distant object in Earth's landscape. In our experience, it also worked well to use the moon to align the finder scope! (Find more details through YouTube research)-The moon itself can be a source of light pollution for the planets, so using the moon to align the finder scope has that trade-off. However, we were still able to see Jupiter's Galilean moons and Saturn's rings with both planets being near a waxing gibbous moon!-Interference can come not only from light pollution (which we expected) but also from temperature changes, vibrations in the ground, and the "wavy" effect of the atmosphere. Among other things I'm sure.-There isn't much support from the source company, so astronomy YouTube videos are your best help.Having learned all these things, we were able to see faint Jupiter stripes, the Galilean moons, and Saturn's rings on our third try and were elated! Here's a blurry pic of Jupiter with its moons that doesn't capture the fact that we were able to make out faint stripes! We haven't tried the smartphone accessory yet, but it appears to be for helping you align your smartphone for better pics. Very happy overall with this telescope!Really nice Telescope, easy to assemble and use; especially for beginners!I have the strange feeling you need to spend 5 or 10 grand for a telescope that doesn't feel like it's made out of plastic. That being said, this feels like plastic in some places but it works well and you can see stuff far away ( Believe it or not) and I feel it was a good purchase. I mean for a novelty item, I couldn't be happierWe were looking for a beginner friendly telescope for terrestrial viewing and to look at some celestial objects. The zoom quality for terrestrial views are great (see 1st photo.. uses 10mm.. this is the result of first trial with the phone adapter). The celestial objects are fun to view as well (took a pic of the moon -2nd photo & jupiter (blob lol) -3rd). I did get better views on a moonless night (got Saturn with baby rings!) but wasn't able to take a photo.A few things why I gave it a 4 star... the barlow lens it came with seems to be blurry.. everytime I use it, the image is out of focus and no adjusting makes it clearer. Also, the mount screw handle thing doesn't tighten cleanly when the scope is angled up. After I focus on an object and tighten the mount so the scope doesn't move... when I release the handle it slightly shifts up and I lose the image and have to find the object again. Not an issue with terrestrial views but a bit annoying when viewing celestial objects, need to reset every time you change lenses. As a last note, the phone adapter is said to work only with the 10mm lens. It fits the other lenses but not sure if it works well (it didn't for the 25mm).View finder has no focus. Not good. Just to difficult to see anything at night through the Lenz. Works ok in daylight but a monocular is far better. This isn't a product for an amateur otherwise I would be able to actually see the night sky. Wish I kept the box so I could return.Product bought it for my 14-year-old’s birthday and we got to see the Red moonI got this for my husband for Christmas he has been talking about getting one and this one had so many great reviews I went for it.Here's what I found:1. Super easy to assemble, takes no time at all.2. Looks sharp. Looks like a expensive powerful telescope, definitely an eyecatching talking piece.3. There is a learning curb that we are still working our way around. Expect to do some research on how to find what you're looking for. (We caught a couple nice shots of the moon but are still learning how to search for specific stars, constellations, planets, etc. Unfortunately, it is winter in the NE and we haven't had much time with the right conditions to explore.Overall my husband loves it. I love seeing his face light up when he has the chance to use it and we look forward to warmer weather to be able to use it more and learn more about our solar system!good quality can tell by the weight. We will have lots of fun getting to know how to use this item. This telescope might be the most “high-end” product I had ever purchased from Amazon. My parents have loved astrology. Therefore, I had spent some unforgettable summers with them and learnt some basic concepts of astrology. Many years later, as I am now living far away from my hometown, I decided to own a telescope myself. This telescope is really like I dreamed one. The heavier weight shows its good quality and the size is wonderful to storage at my flat. It's fairly easy to set up and powerful enough to give excellent clear views of the major planets such as The Moon, Venus, and Mars at the first several times trials. I am definitely far from an astrological expert, but I am willing to learn more about it. After spent several days on the telescope and adjust different eyepieces for multiple sessions, I had found Mars’ s ice cap, Jupiter with its big red spot, and Saturn and its rings. I really enjoy the time using this telescope and have lots of fun to explore the starry sky. Very happy with this telescope and highly recommend! This is my first telescope so I'm just a begginner amateur type. I wanted something to observe the moon closer and better because until now I had been using a small ×24 hand telescope. In most cases if you want some quality you need to be ready to spend some money so I was looking for a mid of the range one and I went for this telescope. It didn't dissapoint, quite the opposite. It comes in a branded box all nicely and safely wrapped with all bits and pieces. The main body is big, bigger than it appears on the picture, about 60 to 70cm. This is serious stuff. The tripod is the proffesional type, solid stainless steel big diameter legs, all metal holder and scope body, heavy and robust, very stable not the usual plastic light ones you would find on the cheap scopes. The images of the moon are amazing. It just feels so great to be able to see so close. It comes with an A4 paper with photocolour step by step english instructions on how to assemble the whole thing, very straightforward. I love it. I am now looking forward to many nights of moon watching.I really appreciate this product arrived on time, it was a huge package, but I can see how well they were being protected during transportation. For me, it was quick and easy to set up using the quick release and join attachment together with no extra tools, even I had to screw them together. Especially, they had image introduction, it was easy to follow, so not to worry if you can't read their introduction. There is an accessory tray that was set down on the middle, its convenient storage of other lenses. I don't have to worry about where to store extra stuff safely. After all the preparations, I was started observing the sky, it produced great images of objects and deep sky.The telescope was very well packaged and arrived very quickly in perfect condition, the instructions were straight forward and easy to follow by adults and children,The view finder images are amazing really sharp and clear it is very well made and excellent quality, very impressed represents excellent value for money really is outstanding quality,Both myself and my son are really impressed with it, it’s amazing to see the stars for the first time,it certainly did not disappoint us in any way,I would have no hesitation in recommending this telescope to anyone either beginners or the more experienced.
